Mimi Fakhri MSc PgDip. EBPT Dip. CBH GQHP
I'm a cognitive behavioural (CBT) therapist and hypnotherapist working in Kingston and New Malden.
I am passionate helping people who struggle with anxiety, worry or stress to break free from anxiety and reclaim their lives. I want you to learn practical tools and skills that help you to help yourself. My aim is that you become your own therapist, not reliant on me.
I worked for over 15 years in blue-chip corporate business, so I understand first hand the pressures of a fast-paced, pressure-filled environment and the difficulties of juggling this with family life. As someone who has suffered with stress and anxiety in the past, I know just how helpful CBT, hypnotherapy, and mindfulness can be.
My Approach & Philosophy
I use a combination of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), hypnotherapy and mindfulness-based approaches. I match the evidence about what works to your individual needs, preferences and lifestyle.
I have an evidence-based philosophy, which means I believe you have the right to treatment that is based on sound scientific evidence. This means I keep up with the latest research and my approach is based on the best up to date evidence.
I have a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy from the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Evidence-based Psychological Treatments from the University of Reading. I also have a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Behavioural Decision Sciences (the psychology of behaviour and decision making).
I teach at the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy and am a clinical supervisor for other hypnotherapists.
I'm accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I am bound to the stringent Codes of Ethics of all of these organisations.
I run clinics in Kingston and New Malden, Surrey / South West London and offer online therapy via Zoom.
It’s really important that you work with someone you feel comfortable with, so please feel free to call me for a chat so you can get a feel for how I could help (or, if you prefer, send me a message at email@example.com or using the form below).
I'm registered with Welldoing and you can view my profile here.
I'm also an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist providing therapeutic support to the charity's members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK's regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, continual professional development, insurance and professional body membership in addition to complying with the ethical framework and professional standards set down by my registered governing body.
